During the TwitchCon keynote today, CEO Emmett Shear announced that a dedicated Twitch app is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita this fall.
With the app, you’ll be able to watch non-PlayStation streams, complete with full chat support and emoticon support. The app will also highlight PS4 broadcasts, similar to Live From PlayStation.
Also during the TwitchCon keynote, it was announced that you’ll soon be able to upload videos directly to Twitch and “create a true 24/7 channel experience.” Additionally, “Your whispers will live outside of global chat & you can take them on the go!,” Twitch is on their way to a full HTML5 player, you’ll be able to create a playlist to run while you’re offline, and improvements to the search engine in 2016 will offer more relevant results, better metadata, and much more.
