Amazon UK Ending Trade-In Program at End of the Month

Amazon UK will no longer be accepting trade-ins after the end of the month, the online retailer recently announced on its website.

The news comes soon after GameStop published a report that notes that gamers are no longer trading in as many used games. On the Amazon UK website, it was explained that trade-in orders will no longer be accepted after August 31, 2015, but any issued gift cards will remain valid after that date.

You can submit trade-in items as normal up to and including 31 August 2015. No Trade-In orders can be submitted online after the closure date. Please ensure your trade-in items are dispatched within 7 days after your submission. Trade-Ins sent after this time will not be accepted by us and will be returned to your address. Please note trade-in submissions sent via Royal Mail may take up to 6 business days to arrive before your submission is processed.

All issued Amazon.co.uk Gift Cards will remain valid after the closure of our Trade-In Programme. As before, this will be subject to our Gift Card Tems and Conditions.

Note: All trade-in orders submitted online before 31 August 2015 will be processed as normal if dispatched to us within 7 days after submission.

It doesn’t appear that the US Amazon trade-in program will be impacted at all. Does the closing of the Amazon UK program affect you?
