On September 1, Sony will be increasing the price of the three month PlayStation Plus membership in Europe from £11.99/€14.99 to £14.99/€19.99, while the one month subscription will also see an increase in the UK.
In a statement sent to Push Square, a PlayStation UK rep explained why they’ve decided to up the price:
We are dedicated to bringing PlayStation Plus members the best possible service with the most compelling content. From 1st September we will be increasing the price of monthly and three month PlayStation Plus subscriptions in line with market conditions. We will continue to invest in PlayStation Plus to ensure an unparalleled experience, featuring the best quality games and features.
The 12 month PS+ subscription price will remain unchanged in Europe, and it doesn’t appear as if any adjustments will be made in North America.
You can download the August 2015 PS+ free games right now, with the option to vote on an upcoming PS4 title set to begin soon. Additionally, Super Meat Boy will be free through PS+ later this year at launch.
