Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Screenshots Revealed, PS4 Demo Coming This Summer

In a new hands-on preview of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Sid Shuman, PlayStation’s Senior Manager of Social Media, revealed the first screenshots for the title, which we’ve placed in the gallery.

Previously confirmed to include all three Uncharted PlayStation 3 titles at 1080p/60fps with better lighting, textures, and models, Shuman talked specifically about Uncharted 2: Among Thieves inside the collection:

Based on what I played, PS4’s copious processing power is helping Uncharted 2 age gracefully. We should all be so lucky as Nate. The new 1080p resolution and generous frame-rate give everything a clean, crisp, fluid look and feel that flatters the original PS3 version without betraying Naughty Dog’s vision. One might say that this is Uncharted 2 the way it was meant to be played. And yep, that building still falls down real good.

I played unfinished code that was missing a few minor visual effects, but Bluepoint’s loving influence was readily apparent. The studio is upgrading character models, environment textures, lighting, and special effects across the board, bringing all three games as close to visual modernity as possible while ensuring they remain true to their original creative direction.

To try out the Nathan Drake Collection for yourself, a playable demo will be available in the PlayStation Store later this summer in both North America and Europe.

The full Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection launches for the PlayStation 4 on October 7 in Europe and October 9 in North America. As we learned shortly after it was announced, there won’t be any multiplayer included.
