Gearbox CEO Randy Pithford Invested $10 Million of His Own Money in Aliens: Colonial Marines

During a recent Twitter Q&A, Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford was asked numerous accusatory questions about Aliens: Colonial Marines, the game that sparked a lawsuit due to false advertising. While responding to the questions, Pitchford mentioned that he invested $10 million of his own money in Aliens, and “lost it all.”

Earlier this year, Gearbox was dropped from the lawsuit, as the focus of the suit turned toward SEGA, the actual publisher of Aliens and the company in charge of advertising for it. After Gearbox was dropped, Pitchford expressed his disapproval of the legal system, and mentioned the whole lawsuit was a “huge waste of time.”
