Sony & Square Enix Will Reveal Final Fantasy VII Remake PS4 Timed-Exclusivity Details Before Launch

We still don’t know how long the Final Fantasy VII Remake will stay a PlayStation 4 exclusive, but Adam Boyes revealed that we’ll get full details before the game launches.

In an interview with Kotaku at E3, Boyes, VP of Publisher & Developer Relations at PlayStation, mentioned how he’s known about the remake for a year, well before the port announcement at PlayStation Experience. Calling their relationship with Square Enix and the remake a “partnership” – but not giving any further information – Boyes addressed the topic of PS4 timed-exclusivity:

We’ll be disclosing that to everyone before the game comes out, so everyone will know.

Boyes added that he doesn’t know what Square Enix’s plans are for a PC version.

As for another Square Enix title, Rise of the Tomb Raider, it’s been said numerous times that the game is only going to be available on Xbox this holiday. When asked about its chances of coming to PlayStation eventually, Boyes said he didn’t know and was going to try to find out.

Meanwhile, according to Boyes, Sony is already having discussions about their E3 2016 plans.
