Horizon Zero Dawn Will Be an Open-World Game Set After the Apocalypse

Guerrilla Games revealed their new IP, Horizon: Zero Dawn during Sony’s E3 2015 press conference, and during a recent PlayStation livestream some details of the game were released.

During the livestream, a video of which can be seen above, Managing Director Hermen Hulst and Game Director Mathijs de Jonge talked about Horizon after showing off some gameplay. Apparently, Horizon is set around a thousand years after the apocalypse, and it puts players in an open-world environment. Players will be able to fight a number of different machines, and can collect pieces of the machines to craft weapons and tools.

The main character is named Eloy, a young woman who is a machine hunter. She is one of her tribe’s best hunters, and in order to take down the machines, players will need to use various strategies and weapons.
