Dark Souls III was unveiled at E3 2015, and now a few details about its development and its world size have come out.
During a presentation at E3, Director Hidetaka Miyazaki talked a bit about the development of Dark Souls III, but mentioned through a translator that the team creating the upcoming game is different from the team that made Bloodborne.
The Bloodborne development timeframe and that of Dark Souls 3 overlaps [by] approximately 1 year.
However, none of the Bloodborne team members joined the Dark Souls 3 development team. Miyazaki-san is actually the only guy who handled both.
In a separate interview with Famitsu, Miyazaki explained that “the speed of the action” in Dark Souls III is “slightly increased compared to the previous two games and balanced so you can move intuitively.” He also went on to say that although the game will have fewer maps than its predecessors, they will be larger.
There are slightly less maps than Dark Souls II, but each of the maps are on a much larger scale.
Dark Souls III is slated to come out sometime in early 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
