Destiny Hotfix Arriving Next Week, Will Tweak Skolas Encounter

It looks like Bungie has some surprises in store for us at E3, and is teasing us with an image of a closed crate marked with the words “Caution,” “Explosive,” and “Projectile.”

In their weekly update, Bungie explained that the crate is harmless despite the threatening labels, and mentioned that its contents will be revealed next week at E3.

Bungie also announced that since the release of Destiny‘s House of Wolves expansion, which came out on May 19, “378,511 Fireteams have exacted their final victory over Skolas.” The studio explained that some tweaks to the Challenge will be implemented in the release of Destiny Hotfix 1.2.0.3, which is set to come out sometime next week. Creative Director Christopher Barrett talked a little bit about what those tweaks will be:

We want the Skolas encounter to be challenging and require teamwork, only in a more predictable way that doesn’t feel cheap. To accomplish this, we’re making the following changes to Round 6 of the Skolas Challenge:

  • Boss health is reduced (to compensate for the lack of burn)
  • Minions will spawn at predictable health intervals
  • Minor adjustment to the unit makeup of the combatant waves

Bungie also mentioned that they are looking into an issue where “some some players are unable to receive the ship from completing level 35 Arena Challenge in the Prison of Elders,” although the studio did not say when a fix would be available.
