Update:

Answering a few more questions, Stevenson said Ratchet & Clank PS4 is “way bigger than Into the Nexus, 10-12 hours-ish, plus upgrades/trophies etc.”

As well, he says this is a new game, not just a remaster:

This is a new game, we definitely took elements from the original game, but also many elements from the Future series and otherwise. It’s a very new experience and not just a remaster.

Original Story:

Shortly after giving us a look at Ratchet & Clank PlayStation 4 gameplay, Insomniac Games Community Lead James Stevenson confirmed that the game will run at 1080p/30fps:

We’re 1080p/30fps… our goal was to match or exceed the fidelity of CG animated movies. When we first started we realized that was actually possible with PS4. Pretty exciting.

While the tagline for Ratchet & Clank PS4 is ‘The Game, Based on the Movie, Based on the Game’, it’s unfortunately “too long for a [game] subtitle.”

As for those who have never played a Ratchet & Clank game before, Stevenson says this is the best place to start:

This will be an ultimate point for you to launch into the series if you’ve never played before, giving you the origin story of Ratchet & Clank but in the best way possible.

That said, you can’t go wrong with the other games in the series too.

With the Ratchet & Clank re-imagining, someone asked if Resistance: Fall of Man might be getting a re-imagining as well. As Stevenson put it, there’s “no plans for anything Resistance.”

Back in 2013, Insomniac Games’ Ted Price said, “”The future of Resistance is unclear – I’ve said we wouldn’t go back to making Resistance since we don’t own the IP. But I’ve also learned to say “never say never.””
