PayDay 2: Crimewave Edition Will Have a Revamped Skill System, More Characters and Weapons

Starbreeze Studios has said that it hopes people will try out PayDay 2: Crimewave Edition on the current-gen consoles as they’re in for a “different experience” compared to the last-gen title. Global Brand Director Almir Listo said that the developer faced difficulties when adding updates to the PlayStation 3 version of the game because of the generation being a decade old, but that it’s much easier to add updates to the PlayStation 4 version of the game. With reference to the Crimewave Edition, Listo said:

Imagine your favourite heisting game is getting 16 months more of love and care… that’s exactly what’s happening with Payday 2 Crimewave Edition.

Speaking about what’s new in the Crimewave Edition, Listo confirmed that the game will include a revamped skill system, more skills, and double the amount of characters.

You have Clover, the first playable female character of the series, Dragan the Croatian heister, John Wick, and Old Hoxton is back as well. You have more weapons, more masks, more heists – there’s basically more of everything!

PayDay 2: Crimewave Edition is launching on June 12 in Europe and June 16 in North America for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
