If you’ve missed out on The Last of Us: Left Behind DLC expansion up to this point, Naughty Dog will be giving you the chance to play it without owning The Last of Us.
On May 12 in North America and Europe, a standalone version of The Last of Us: Left Behind will be released on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 for $9.99/€9.99/£7.99. On the same day, the price of the Left Behind DLC on PS3 will drop to $9.99/€9.99/£7.99.
Additionally, the Left Behind standalone release includes a two hour trial of the Factions Multiplayer mode.
You’ll also have the option of upgrading your Left Behind standalone copy to both the full Factions experience and/or the full game for The Last of Us, as you can see below:
PlayStation 4
- Full Factions Multiplayer – $9.99/€9.99/£7.99
- Full digital single-player game with Treacherous Territories Map Pack (if you already own the full Factions Multiplayer) – $29.99/€24.99/£19.99
- Full digital single-player game, Factions Multiplayer Mode, and the Treacherous Territories Map Pack bundle – $39.99/€34.99/£28.99
PlayStation 3
- Full Factions Multiplayer – $9.99/€9.99/£7.99
- Full digital single-player game with Treacherous Territories Map Pack (if you already own the full Factions Multiplayer) – $19.99/€14.99/£11.99
- Full digital single-player game, Factions Multiplayer Mode, and the Treacherous Territories Map Pack bundle – $29.99/€24.99/£19.99
Despite Naughty Dog saying Left Behind is a “nicely priced gateway to checking out the world and characters so many people (and critics) loved,” it’s highly recommended that you play The Last of Us first, as Left Behind contains major spoilers for the main game.
If you’re interested in the full version of The Last of Us Remastered on PS4 (which includes Left Behind), GameDealDaily is selling the digital version for $12.75 USD right now.
