In this week’s issue of Famitsu, Kingdom Hearts 3 Director Tetsuya Nomura was interviewed, and he revealed that development of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game is “going smoothly.”
While it’s possible we’ll get more Kingdom Hearts 3 news before this point, Nomura confirmed that they have “some interesting things planned” for the D23 Expo Japan from November 6-8, which may include a new smartphone game.
Here’s Nomura’s full excerpt on Kingdom Hearts coming to the D23 Expo Japan:
We have some interesting things planned. There will be Kingdom Hearts 3 news, and various things, I think. Development on Kingdom Hearts 3 is going smoothly, but there will also be new announcements connected to it. As one of those new announcements, I think we should be able to announce a smartphone-specific development for the series in short order.
At the 2013 D23 Expo Japan, Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix was announced and we received a Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay trailer.
