Metro Redux Crosses 1.5 Million Copies Sold, Outsells Metro: Last Light in Some Territories

To celebrate the release of Metro Redux on Mac, 4A Games and Deep Silver confirmed today that Metro Redux has sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC since launch in August 2014.

Compared to Metro: Last Light on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Metro: Redux on consoles has outsold it “in multiple territories -– an unprecedented feat for a remastered edition.”

As the press release adds, “When measured against sales of the previous generation release, Metro Redux is the best performing remaster of this generation.”

Additionally, Metro Redux is Deep Silver’s highest-rated game on Metacritic.

Deep Silver International Commercial Director Menno Van der Bil said:

We are thrilled with the performance of Metro Redux. “4A Games have created one of the benchmarks by which other re-masters will be judged, and we have seen their efforts rewarded with fantastic critical and commercial success. Metro Redux has introduced many new fans to the series, and we look forward to reaching a whole new audience on Mac.”

We should be hearing about the future of the Metro series soon, with 4A Games saying in May 2014, “[The studio] continues to work on unannounced titles within the Metro universe as well as further, unannounced projects, powered by their cutting edge proprietary tech, the 4A Engine.”
