Titan Souls Gets Last Minute Price Change, Will Cost $14.99 (Update)

Update:

Devolver Digital has reached out to us with the following statement:

It [Titan Souls] was always that price – as listed in Steam – it just was mislabeled on the PS Blog.

The explanation provided in the original story gives us a slightly different impression, though. And apparently, we’re not the only ones who were confused by the statement. However, in response to another user, Devolver has said that it was all just “miscommunication with PlayStation.”

Original story:

Devolver Digital has announced a last minute price change for its top-down action-adventure title, Titan Souls, which is due to be released on April 14 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The game will now cost $14.99, bumped up from $9.99.

An explanation from Devolver is as follows:

Originally, we had communicated to our friends at PlayStation that Titan Souls would be $9.99, but as development continued, we decided to price the game at $14.99. Once we considered the final length of the game, the additional challenge modes with new versions of the titans, and the decision to make the game Cross-Buy on PS4 and Vita, we felt that $14.99 was a fair and attractive price for Titan Souls. This price change wasn’t communicated in time for the Spring Fever promotion announcement but has been changed since. We apologize for this change, but we hope you’re excited for the arrival of Titan Souls and can’t wait to share what the team has been working on for the past two years.

User response to the price change seems to be mixed, with some stating that they’re okay with a slight bump, but others stating that they don’t see a justification for it.
