Created by developer XMPT Games, with Mastertronic handling publishing, DiscStorm is a “fast-paced arena combat game” set for release in Summer 2015 on PlayStation Vita, PC, Mac, and Linux.
Featuring online multiplayer, leaderboards, and a single player campaign that unlocks costumes and environments, DiscStorm sees you hurling flying discs that ricochet around the game’s arenas as you strive to become the finest Disc Master around.
In terms of game modes, you’ll find first-to-ten, survival, the one-hit-kill Death Disc, and a Vita-exclusive multiplayer mode using one console.
As for those arenas, each brings different enemies and play-styles, such as the Stone Golem in the jungle temple or the Fire Elemental in the volcano lair.
Programmer Richard Pilot talked about DiscStorm:
DiscStorm began its life as a personal project that I had prototyped one Christmas. The team enjoyed it so much that we decided to approach Mastertronic, who really helped push the game to the next level. It’s been a blast to take it to shows and watch players go through the full spectrum of elation and rage as they battle against their friends! I can’t wait to see what everyone thinks when we release later this year.
What do you think of DiscStorm?
