When we asked CD Projekt RED back in January if it had any plans for current-gen HD re-releases of past The Witcher titles, the studio confirmed it didn’t. During a panel at PAX East 2015, the developer said that it did consider doing so, but ultimately decided to focus on its current projects, which include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077.
However, CD Projekt RED still hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a re-release, which gives a glimmer of hope to PlayStation owners who will be getting a title in the series for the first time when The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt releases this May.
CD Projekt RED’s Level Designer Miles Tost previously told us that he couldn’t answer why The Witcher never came to PlayStation platforms and that it was a business question that was “beyond him.”
