Gamer Academy – The Order: 1886 Trophy Guide

theorder1886header1

Welcome to PlayStation LifeStlye’s Trophy Guide for The Order: 1886! The much anticipated title from Ready at Dawn has an extremely easy Trophy list. In addition to its easy difficulty, it also has a bit of a different list. There are no Bronze Trophies and the game only has 22 Trophies in total. Most of them you’ll earn without even trying. There are a few collectible related Trophies, but that’s about the extent of the Trophies that require you to go out of your way. With the linear nature of the game, the collectibles are also easy to find as there are really no big environments to hide them in. If you beat the game and still need Trophies, you can use chapter select to earn them. It’s a list full of Silver and Golds, an extremely easy Platinum and it all comes without the shame of playing a Hanna Montana-type game, enjoy!

Spoiler Alert: There are spoilers within the guide. If you’re trying to avoid spoilers, it’s recommended that you complete the game before reading any further.

 The Grail – Platinum

– Collect all Trophies.

A Knight No More – Gold

– Complete the game (any difficulty)

This Trophy is story related.

The Marksman – Gold

– Kill 5 enemies with a headshot during Blacksight

Blacksight is an ability that is learned in Chapter 1 and it allows you to slow down time. It also auto aims your weapon at the enemy. The ability is activated by pressing L1. You can’t free aim so, you’ll just have to keep firing your weapon until it aims at the enemy’s heads. You don’t need five at once, just five total. You can farm this Trophy as well by restarting checkpoints.

Well Rounded – Gold

– Kill an enemy with every weapon

There are 17 total weapons in the game that are required for this Trophy. The various weapons are acquired by picking them up from dead enemies, found through out the game and some will be automatically given to you as part of the story. Below is a list of each weapon and the earliest times that I encountered them.

  1. C-78 Pistol – Chapter 1
  2. MK 1 Revolver – Chapter 1
  3. M2 Falchion Auto Rifle – Chapter 1
  4. Duelist Revolver – Chapter 3
  5. M82 Carbine – Chapter 3
  6. M85 Automatisch – Chapter 3
  7. M84 Carbine – Chapter 3
  8. RA-5 Shotgun – Chapter 3
  9. M86 Thermite Rifle – Chapter 3
  10. C-81 Maschinenpistole – Chapter 5
  11. Three Crown Coach Gun – Chapter 5
  12. T-23 Arc Induction Lance – Chapter 8
  13. M4 Dragoon Revolver – Chapter 8
  14. TS-29 Cannon – Chapter 8
  15. TS-17 Detonator – Chapter 9
  16. Repeating Arblast – Chapter 11
  17. MK IV Grenade – Through out the game.

Modern Marvels – Gold

– Kill 40 enemies with science weapons

This Trophy is basically story related. You’ll get this in Chapter 8. There will be a section that will require you to kill 40+ enemies in order to progress with the TS-29 Cannon. The cannon is a science weapon, so, you’ll earn this one very easily.

Collateral Damage – Gold

– Kill 3 enemies with a single explosion

A really easy place to earn this Trophy is in Chapter 8 when you’re fighting off the waves of enemies with the TS-29. The enemies will be grouped together pretty closely so you should have no issue unlocking this here.

Between the Eyes – Silver

– Kill 100 enemies with a headshot

This Trophy is accumulative, it’s over the course of your entire playthrough. Just make sure to aim for the head whenever possible. You can restart checkpoints if you want to farm this.

Undivided Attention – Silver

– Kill 25 enemies during Blacksight

The Blacksight ability is unlocked in Chapter 2 and activated by pressing L1. Just use the ability frequently and you’ll earn the Trophy no problem. This is also an accumulative Trophy that spans across your entire play through.

From the Hip – Silver

– Kill 25 enemies without aiming

Another easy Trophy here. Just don’t press L2 to aim when you’re firing your weapon at enemies. This can be farmed by restarting checkpoints as well.

Box Your Ears – Silver

– Kill 15 enemies with melee attacks

To melee an enemy, run up to them and press Triangle. Obviously, this is much easier earned on the lower difficulties. This can be farmed by restarting checkpoints. Stealth kills do not count toward this.

Snuffed Out – Silver

– Kill 7 enemies with silent takedowns

In Chapter 5, you’ll be shown how to perform silent takedowns. You need to just sneak up on an enemy and press Triangle when the game prompts you. You have to press it exactly when it tells you in order to perform the takedown correctly. You cannot earn this Trophy before Chapter 5. You can farm this by restarting checkpoints.

Gunslinger – Silver

– Kill 75 enemies with pistols

Just get 75 kills with any of the game’s five pistols. It doesn’t have to be 75 with one pistol either. This also carries your total across your entire play through. Again, you can farm this by restarting checkpoints.

The Hunter – Silver

– Kill 10 Lycans

This Trophy is basically unmissable as you’ll encounter the Lycans through out the game and will have to kill them in order to progress. The fights are pretty easy, just evade them by pressing X, shoot them and then when you have damaged them enough, press Triangle to kill them.

Up in Flames – Silver

– Incinerate 15 enemies

This Trophy can be earned as early as Chapter 3. You’ll have to use the M86 Thermite Rifle to incinerate enemies. This Trophy can be farmed by reloading checkpoints. Farming the kills is probably the best idea as the Thermite Rifle is kind of rare later on in the game.

Inspector First Class – Gold

– Find all inspect items

See the Trophy “Power of Observation” for more details.

Archivist – Silver

– Collect all phonograph cylinders

See the Trophy “Power of Observation” for more details.

Well-read – Silver

– Inspect all newspapers

See the Trophy “Power of Observation” for more details.

Detail Oriented – Silver

– Inspect all photographs and documents

See the Trophy “Power of Observation” for more details.

Power of Observation – Silver

– Inspect all objects

There are a total of 77 objects to inspect. 14 Inspect items, 10 inspect objects, 16 documents, 16 Phonograph Cylinders, 10 newspapers and 11 photographs. Whatever you pick up will carry over to other play throughs. You can also grab what you missed via chapter select after you complete the game. The only problem is that there is no way to track what you have picked up. The game keeps track of you Phonograph Cylinders, but that’s it. Also, when you pick an item up, make sure to inspect them by using the right stick and pressing Triangle.

A side note for Chapter 11, at the end of the Chapter in the library, you only have a limited amount of time to search. The game will play a cutscene and the story will continue. If this happens before you’re able to pick up all of the collectibles, you can just come back via chapter select and pick up whatever you may have missed.

 Only the Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 11, and 15 have collectibles.

Brilliant! – Gold

– Shoot an airborne grenade during Blacksight

You can either shoot your own grenade, or an enemy’s. When a grenade is in the air, press L1 to activate Blacksight. It  should automatically lock onto the grenade, simply shoot it when it locks on. If the game doesn’t lock onto the grenade, use the right stick to switch targets.

Brilliant! Video Guide

Discombobulated – Silver

– Stun an enemy 30 times with the M2 ‘Falchion’

The M2 is a pretty common weapon through out the game, so, you shouldn’t have any issues finding one. To stun an enemy, press R1. You’ll know the enemies are stunned when the enemies are knocked backwards. The Trophy description makes it sound like you have to stun the same enemy. You can actually stun 30 different enemies as you play through the game.

Highly Volatile – Silver

– Detonate 10 powder kegs

Powder kegs are the red barrels seen through out the game. All you need to do is shoot them to detonate them. These are actually quite scarce through out the game. You’ll probably want to farm this when you come across one due to the scarcity of them. Shoot it and reload the checkpoint. Here are two notable areas below:

In the area of the firefight with the shot gunners in Chapter 3. There are three kegs close to each other.

During Chapter 8, there are four on the bridge when you are tasked with stopping the rebel attack. They aren’t close together, but spread out on the bridge. They are next to debris and the over turned carriages.
