A few weeks ago, we saw a glimpse of what Resident Evil: Revelations 2‘s Raid Mode will be like and the number of missions users will get to choose from. Recently, Capcom has released even more information on the run-and-gun mode, including what some of the various character skills are.
Apparently, each of the 15 playable characters in Raid Mode will start with different skills. By leveling up, players can unlock new skills and weapon slots, as well as Skill Points, which can be used to increase the effectiveness of certain skills. While not all of these skills have been revealed, one, called “Shield,” will absorb damage, while another, called “Exploding Bottle,” will deal explosive damage to enemies.
It appears as if players will not be the only ones with unique skills — certain enemies will also possess special abilities or modifiers. In the picture above, an enemy with a fire modifier can be seen. If it touches the player, the player will sustain burn damage over a period of time. Other enemies might be incredibly fast, or have force fields, or be invisible.
To combat these enemies, it looks like players will have to make use of their own skills as well as their weapons, which can be modified. Different types of ammo, clips, and more can be bought and upgraded, making your weapons more potent. New guns may also be purchased, either using in-game currency or using real money.
What do you think of all these new Resident Evil: Revelation 2 details? Are you excited to try out Raid Mode when the game’s first episode releases next week for PlayStation 4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC?
