The Simpsons Skin Pack Announced for Minecraft, Includes 24 Characters

Coming to Xbox first in February because Microsoft owns Mojang, The Simpsons downloadable content pack was announced for Minecraft, and will cost $1.99. As the Microsoft announcement said at the very end, “Stay tuned for more information on The Simpsons downloadable content pack on other platforms,” meaning that a PlayStation release should follow after Xbox.

Inside the Skin Pack, you’ll receive Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie, as well as “19 of Springfield Elementary School’s beloved characters.”

Roz Nowicki, Executive VP of Global Sales and Retail for Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, talked about the partnership:

Like The Simpsons, Minecraft is a true cultural phenomenon embraced by people of all ages, from every corner of the globe. We know fans of the show will have a ton of fun bringing the colorful characters of Springfield into the intricate worlds they’ve been building in Minecraft.

At the moment, 4J Studios is working on an update for Minecraft: PlayStation Edition to fix various bugs.

Since it launched in 2009, Minecraft has been downloaded over 100 million times, with over 17 million sold on Xbox, 18 million on PC, and 30 million of the Pocket Edition.
