Activision Allegedly Targeting Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Glitch Videos

Video network, Machinima, and YouTube users are reporting that Activision is flagging all those Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare videos which showcase glitches in the game. Kotaku reports that Machinima had to send a message out to its talent network to watch out for Activision flagging videos as they want network partners to “remain in good standing on YouTube.”

Activision, on the other hand, has denied that it’s flagging all videos depicting glitches, claiming that only those videos are being flagged that promote cheating and unfair exploiting. In a statement to Kotaku, the company said:

We’re excited that so many fans are having fun playing the game and posting videos of their gameplay. We love watching the videos ourselves. Occasionally, some folks post videos that promote cheating and unfair exploits. As always, we keep an eye out for these videos—our level of video claims hasn’t changed. We are appreciative of the community’s support in helping to ensure that everyone has the best playing experience possible.

A quick search on YouTube still brings up videos with glitches, so the extent of Activision’s crackdown is not known.
