Speaking with the official PlayStation Blog, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn producer and director Naoki Yoshida mentioned that besides the upcoming Heavensward update, FFXIV fans can also look forward to a free trial of the game.
For anyone who has not yet had the chance to experience the MMO, the trial might be a perfect time to see what the game is all about. Launching “very soon,” users will be allowed to play FFXIV for free for up to 14 days. During that time, players can get their character up to level 20 and try out some of what the RPG has to offer, including the new Dreams of Ice update.
Very soon, we’re going to be starting a free trial for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 players. You just need to download and install the client, and you can play for 14 days up to level 20. Hopefully, this will bring in a lot of people who haven’t played but have been thinking about playing. It will give them a chance to feel the game and experience Final Fantasy XIV and the world of Eorzea.
Although Yoshida did not mention an exact date for when the free trial will be happening, it will hopefully come sooner rather than later. Will you be participating trial when it hits PS3 and PS4? Do you currently play FFXIV?
