Amazon’s Acquisition of Twitch is Now Officially Complete

Amazon has officially completed its $970 million acquisition of the game streaming service Twitch.

Amazon’s purchase was officially confirmed via a short Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, which simply stated that “On September 25, 2014, Amazon.com, Inc. completed its acquisition of Twitch Interactive, Inc.”

The deal was originally announced back in August after Google, was was expected to purchase Twitch, backed out. According to Twitch CEO Emmett Shear, most things are going to remain the same at Twitch, including Shear staying on as CEO.

What do you think about Amazon officially buying Twitch? Do you think Amazon will make any unannounced changes to the game streaming service?
