While PlayStation 4 owners will be able to play Minecraft today (and Xbox One owners tomorrow), the wait for Minecraft: PS Vita Edition is going to take a little bit longer.
Over on their blog, Mojang revealed that the Vita version is at least a few weeks away:
Minecraft: Playstation Vita Edition should be with us in a few weeks. As soon as we have a more accurate date we’ll let you know. Sorry for the delay. If you already own Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition you get it for free.
We’ll have to wait for more information on Minecraft: PS Vita Edition, but in the meantime, SCEA’s Brian Silva did answer a couple of questions about the game, including how those who bought Minecraft: PS3 Edition at retail are still eligible for cross-buy with the game on Vita.
He also responded to someone who asked if the Vita version would include cross-saves with PS3 and PS4:
They are still working to determine if it can be cross-save with PS3. We will have more information about the Vita version soon.
Are you going to wait for Minecraft Vita? Or jump into the game on PS4?
