As the “finishing touches” are being put on LittleBigPlanet 3 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, Sony XDev Europe announced today that they’ve been working on Run Sackboy! Run!, a “a free-to-play, platform-survival game built exclusively for PS Vita and mobile devices,” which allows you to earn exclusive LBP3 costumes.
With the Negativitron (a vacuum cleaner who sucks up all the creativity) wreaking havoc on Craftworld, Run Sackboy! Run! will have you using tap and swipe gestures as you avoid dying in three worlds – The Gardens, The Canyons, and Avalonia.
As you collect bubbles in the game, you’ll be able to buy special costumes, each of which have built in score multipliers. If you so choose, there’s also the ability to challenge your friends using the social feature and leaderboards. As well, you can purchase upgrades, including a Jet Pack, Shield, Magnet, and Glider.
In addition to collecting bubbles, there lots of stickers to collect too, and as you complete sticker collections, you’ll unlock special rewards, including those exclusive costumes for LittleBigPlanet 3.
Run Sackboy! Run! is scheduled for release in North America and Europe in October 2014 on PS Vita, iOS, and Android.
