At gamescom 2014, we learned that the former PC-exclusive horror game, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, will be headed to the PlayStation 4. When GameSpot mentioned that the game’s trailer shown at the Sony press conference looked “mostly CG,” Adrian Chmielarz of The Astronauts clarified that this was not the case.
This looks to be mostly CG”. Thanks! But no, @gamespot — The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is 100% real-time.
In other news, when a fan asked for clarification on the statement regarding the game coming to “PlayStation 4 first,” and whether this means that there will be an Xbox One release eventually or not, the developer responded by saying that it was unsure of that. Apparently, the Xbox One release could be problematic due to Microsoft’s ‘parity clause.’
Honestly don’t know. I wish it were simple, but e.g. MS’ parity clause might be a problem.
On a seperate note, Chmielarz sang Sony’s praises on Twitter, stating that the company has been “great to us” and that “it’s a pleasure to teleport Ethan to PS4.”
