Crytek’s Engineer Leaves Developer After 10 Years to Join id Software

In what seems to be more bad news for Crytek, engineer Tiago Sousa, who had been with the developer for a decade, has left to join id Software. Sousa shared the news on Twitter, stating:

Happy to announce I’ll be helping the amazingly talented id Software team with Doom and idTech 6. Very excited 🙂

Sousa will be working as a Lead Rendering Programmer at id. He joined Crytek in 2003 as Senior R&D Graphics Programmer, and his most recent role with the company was that of Lead R&D Graphics Engineer.

We continue to hear reports of Crytek failing to pay staff at their Bulgarian and UK offices, and if reports are anything to go by, it seems that the developer is literally hanging by a thread. On the other hand, id Sotware unveiled the new DOOM at QuakeCon 2014.

All the best, Sousa!
