News Channel Uses Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Image in Child Soldiers Report

The newest addition to the list of infamous bloopers, in which video games were confused with reality, is Russia Today’s latest report on African child soldiers.

During an interview with Emmanuel Jay, a former child soldier who grew up to become a hip-hop artist, Russia Today broadcasted the image that you can see above from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

We’re not quite sure how the channel confused a video game image with a real life one, but Konami UK has a good explanation. Upon discovering the error, the company Tweeted:

For the record. We are in no way affiliated with war children. FOX Engine realism. #LikeABoss

So it’s all thanks to the FOX engine, then! On a side-note, some awesome publicity for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain right there.
