Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is Free to Play This Weekend for Inactive Users

Following last week’s update with Patch 2.3, Square Enix has on offer a free-to-play weekend for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The eligibility criteria includes purchase of the full game with a registered account that is currently inactive. In other words, Square Enix wants you back.

You can start playing now until midnight (Pacific time) on July 20, which is 03.00 am Eastern time. According to a press release, those who haven’t visited A Realm Reborn’s ever expanding world recently have missed a lot.

Patch 2.3 introduces Defenders of Eorzea with new content including Frontline, three-faction PVP allowing 72 players to go head-to-head in direct combat, and Chocobo raising among a wealth of other features. You will also get to discover why you have to fight Ramuh, the Lord of Levin.

So what are you waiting for? Jump in!
