As was revealed months ago, Guerrilla Cambridge, the team behind Killzone: Mercenary, is working on a “major future project,” with the game expected to arrive on PlayStation 4. Thanks to a new job listing on PlayStation Jobs today for an audio programmer, we have a little bit more information about what Guerrilla Cambridge is working on:
Guerrilla’s Cambridge Studio (UK) is looking for an experienced Audio programmer to work on forthcoming projects in a high profile, multi-million selling franchise.
The successful candidate should have at least 3 years experience in the industry and possess excellent working knowledge of game audio systems. Ideally they should be a gamer who is driven to make the best sounding games available on any platform.
Responsibilities will include:
- Improving and implementing in-house tools, engine and gameplay audio features.
- Collaboration with the development team to design and implement systems that will enable them to realize their vision for the game.
- Supporting the Audio team, providing advice, clear documentation and promoting best practices.
- Liaise with other SCE departments and studios to improve and share audio technology.
Given that Cambridge worked on a Killzone game previously, and the Killzone: Shadow Fall team is working on a new IP, it’s possible they’re working on the next PS4 Killzone game. This is just a guess, of course, so once we hear more about this project, we’ll let you know.
What do you think they’re working on? A new WipEout?
