Whether you want one or not, it seems Sony is dead set on delivering a film adaptation of Metal Gear Solid. According to Deadline, Sony is in talks with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kings of Summer) to helm the MGS film adaptation.
While nothing’s been set in stone, and no cast has been signed up yet, the movie is being produced by Avi Arad (Marvel Studios) and is being driven by production president, Michael De Luca. The live-action MGS film will focus on the 1998 PlayStation classic, where protagonist Solid Snake infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility to stop the terrorist threat headed by none other than his own brother.
Some might argue that Hideo Kojima’s games are films on their own and one made by Hollywood isn’t needed. I’m personally on the fence; but with how film adaptations of games being what they are, I admit, I’m a bit cautious on how this one will be treated and received.
Do you want a live-action MGS flick? If so, who should star as Solid Snake?
