Minecraft PS4: 4J is Trying out a World Size 36 Times Larger Than the PS3 Version

Because a lot of people had been asking for PS4 and Xbox One screenshots of Minecraft, 4J Studios obliged and released some new images from the game on consoles (nothing for Vita), showing the view distance increase they’re currently working on:

As well, 4J said of the Xbox One version of Minecraft (and presumably PS4) that “we’re currently trying out a world size increase of 36 times the area of the Xbox 360/PS3 world.” Previously, 4J said the worlds on new-gen consoles wouldn’t be infinite due to save limits.

Minecraft for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita is expected to release in either Q2 or Q3 2014, meaning that we should see it before September 2014. If you’d prefer to play Minecraft on PS3, the retail version will be available this week.

How do you think Minecraft looks on PS4? Let us know in the comments below.
