The Catch-Up: May 8th, 2014 – Over 60 PS Vita Games in the Pipeline From Shahid Ahmad’s Team

  • After people became quite angry about the fact that the $50 PS+ DriveClub upgrade is unplayable once your PS+ subscription runs out, Game Director Paul Rustchynsky said, “I’m seeking clarification on the matter.” [Twitter]
  • NIS has announced that Battle Princess of Arcadias, their downloadable side-scrolling beat-em-up action RPG, will be available through the PlayStation Store on June 17th in North America and June 18th in Europe. [Press Release, Website]
  • Tecmo Koei has announced that Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist Of Arland, a revamped version of Atelier Rorona, will be available in Europe on June 20th and North America on June 24th. The PS3 version will be sold physically and digitally, while the Vita version will be digital only. Atelier Rorona Plus features a new field model, additional stories, additional content, improved Synthesis system and new assignment system, expanded item crafting, new battle system with advanced battle features and skill execution between various characters, over 30 different endings, Cross Save, and a Time Capsule system that allows you to bury items in Atelier Rorona and pick them up in Atelier Meruru, and Totori (Cross Content with PS Vita versions of Atelier Meruru Plus and Atelier Totori Plus).   • Tecmo Koei Europe then confirmed that Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist Of Arland will have Japanese and English voices, along with English subtitles. They also said Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn would have Japanese voices and English subtitles. [Twitter 1, 2]
  • XSEED is bringing Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus, a battle adventure title that is a follow-up to the 3DS’s Senran Kagura Burst, to the PlayStation Vita in North America this fall. Available as a digital download, there will also be a limited run ‘Let’s Get Physical’ retail version of the game, which will include a soundtrack CD and ‘Shinobi Syllabus’ containing profiles of the shinobi students, gameplay strategies, and illustrations.   • As if there was any doubt, The Order: 1886 will be at E3 2014. What we don’t know is whether there will be an on-stage demo of the game or not. [Twitter]
  • Amazon.com is now selling PSN cash cards in $75 and $100 denominations. 
  • Here’s the latest update on that Terraria patch to fix the latest patch: “We have encountered 2 bugs in the patch at the last inch of the last mile this week. These issues have been confirmed as what’s called a “non-issue” but unfortunately we are unable to make the submission window this week. However, since those issues were the only remaining holds, we are all set to go back into certification/submission towards the end of next week (the next available window).   • Developed by WayForward, Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom is scheduled to launch in November 2014 for the PS3, Xbox 360, 3DS, and PC. Here’s the description: Players take on the personas of both Finn and Jake as they navigate through the eponymous kingdom – a mysterious unexplored region in the Land of Ooo. They will discover hidden secrets by exploring all corners of a new kingdom created exclusively for the game and encounter never-seen-before characters and creatures.” The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom will be a “classic top-down action adventure experience” with puzzle-solving elements.
