Get Even Gets a Teaser Trailer, Set for Release on “Next-Gen Platforms” & PC in 2015, Likely Digital-Only

After some details arrived previously, developer The Farm 51, which boasts team members from Painkiller: Hell and Damnation and Deadfall Adventures, has confirmed that Get Even will release for PC and “next-gen platforms” in 2015. While a retail release wasn’t ruled out, the press release pointed out how Get Even is “oriented toward digital distribution.”

The Farm 51 CEO Wojtek Pazdur talked a little about Get Even:

As an independent developer, it would be foolish to go head-to-head with the larger companies and create a ‘me-too’ knock-off, and frankly we wouldn’t be interested in doing it.  We believe that there is still a ton of content and design creativity that has yet to be explored in the first-person genre, as well as an audience beyond the warfare player – those are the people we are going for with Get Even.

For a little more on the upcoming first-person shooter, check out this teaser trailer:

To set Get Even apart from other titles in the FPS genre, you can expect the single player and multiplayer to be closely linked, with the plot revolving around two linked stories. With this, Get Even’s single player missions will allow other people on the network to join your game as enemies, meaning you won’t know if the bad guys are controlled by the CPU or just regular people.

As well, The Farm 51 boasts how Get Even “is the first game to use large-scale, real-world scanning to create expansive and lifelike environments. This 3D scanning technology combines with advanced lighting effects to create a stunning and believable world that pushes the boundaries of the genre.”

A few more pieces of info for Get Even show that weapons with the ability to fire around corners will be featured heavily, those corner-shot weapons are fully customizable, you can use your in-game smartphone to add sight functionality and apps to expand your attack options, there are 60 people working at The Farm 51, and the game is “currently several months into development.”
