After EA gave out the details for Battlefield 4 and Activision did the same for Call of Duty: Ghosts, Sony and Ubisoft have given out the information on how you’ll be doing the upgrade for Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4.
By purchasing either Watch Dogs or Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in retail stores, you’ll be given a unique code inside the box that you can redeem on the PlayStation Store (PS4 not required) to get the PlayStation 4 version at a discounted price of $9.99/£9.99/€9.99. The offer for these two games to redeem the code and buy the game expires on January 31st, 2014, and you will need to put the PS3 disc into the PlayStation 4 in order to access your digital copy of the game, so keep your PS3 copy!
Now, if you buy the games digitally on the PlayStation Store, no code is required and you’ll just be able to purchase the PS4 version at a discounted price of $9.99/£9.99/€9.99.
In what seems to be exclusive to Europe, NBA 2K14 will also be a part of this promotion. The details are the same as ACIV and Watch Dogs, but the upgrade cost will be £11.99/€14.99 and the code will expire on March 31st.
