The vague “later in the year” date for Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush to switch out of the European PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection has been narrowed, thanks to Chris Howe, PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Store Content Manager for SCEE.
After first saying that they’d be switching out “not until November at the earliest,” Howe then responded to another commenter by saying, “Those Vita games will be replaced in November.” Obviously, we have no idea what will replace them right now, but when we do, we’ll be sure to let you know.
There were also a few other things that Chris addressed, including the fact “that [DmC Devil May Cry] was never on the cards for this month,” disproving what that slide had originally foretold. The slide had also falsely hinted at New Little King’s Story being free as well, but “just because it’s not here now doesn’t mean it won’t be in the future .”
Looking at possible future Instant Game Collection entries, “Heavy Rain is only available in a few countries,” the wait for Grand Theft Auto IV could be a long time, Dead Space 2 has already appeared, Mirror’s Edge has a good shot, and it looks like Tomb Raider won’t be added prior to Christmas. The PS+ team looked at adding SSX earlier this year, but weren’t able to secure it, though Chris said it might show up “in the upcoming months.”
For gamers in UAE, where Spec Ops: The Line isn’t available to download as an August 2013 PlayStation Plus free game, NBA 2K13 will be offered as a replacement.
When SCEA announces a date for when our legacy PlayStation Vita PlayStation Plus games are getting switched out, we’ll let you know.
