Shuhei Yoshida on The Last of Us Single Player: “Battles so Intense and Story so Interesting it Felt Like a Dream (Nightmare?)”

As part of Sony’s announcement regarding The Last of Us selling 3.4 million copies in under three weeks, Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, offered up his thoughts. He called the sales a “testament to the blockbuster quality of The Last of Us,” and stated that Naughty Dog’s “storytelling capabilities are second to none.”

Shuhei, ever the prolific tweeter, added a few extra thoughts on his account by saying, “Battles so intense and story so interesting it felt like a dream (nightmare?) to play the single player. And pretty, too. :)”

He didn’t stop at just The Last of Us though, telling Mike Bithell (Thomas Was Alone) that he would “buy” Project 2 when done, while also revealing that the MarkCernyPS4 Twitter account is a fake (it’s no fake Kaz account, that’s for sure). As for the giant DualShock controller that Mark Cerny talked about at Develop, “it’s not for sale.”

Looking at the PSN, Shuhei said of When Vikings Attack, “It’s a great multiplayer game, play with other people and you’ll see.” And offering up some buying advice, he suggested that someone with $5 left in their PSN wallet buy Tokyo Jungle Mobile, which came out today on PlayStation Mobile for $2.99.

Do you think The Last of Us’ single player was a dream? Or a nightmare? Let us know in the comments below.
