EA is Eliminating the Online Pass from all Their Existing Titles, ‘Doing Away With it Altogether’

It looks like EA is getting very serious about their axing of the Online Pass program, as they have confirmed to us that this now extends to previous titles in their catalog.

What began this morning on Xbox Live when certain Online Passes had become free, it prompted us to contact EA, who replied by saying that they are “in the process of eliminating it from all our existing EA titles” because they “heard the feedback from players and decided to do away with Online Pass altogether.” That last statement harkens back to what they said when the original announcement for future titles was made earlier in the month.

This whole undertaking will take effect over the next few weeks, where you’ll first begin to see that some EA Sports titles don’t require a prompt for an Online Pass code anymore, whereas other titles will just have their passes become free online.

What are your thoughts on previous EA titles no longer requiring an Online Pass? Let us know in the comments below.
