Upholding the precedent set with Lost Planet and Lost Planet 2, Lost Planet 3 was rated T for Teen by the ESRB, citing “Blood, Mild Language, Violence” as reasons for the decision.
Since it’s a Teen game, you won’t be hearing many bad words during the dialogue, but there will be blood:
This is a third-person shooter in which players assume the role Jim Peyton, a contract miner battling to find an energy source on a frozen planet. As players explore the frozen environment, they use a variety of weapons (e.g., machine guns, shotguns, grenades, and crossbows) to shoot and kill giant insect-like creatures and enemy soldiers. The frenetic combat is accompanied by realistic gunfire, explosions, and cries of pain. Creatures emit colorful blood splatter effects when injured and a handful of scenes depict red streaks of blood around human corpses. In some sequences, players pilot mechanized “utility rigs” using a first-person perspective to battle larger creatures and military battle suits. The words “b*tch” and “a*s” can be heard in the dialogue.
Lost Planet 3 launches for the PlayStation 3 on June 25th in North America and June 28th in Europe.
