EA has a history of bringing their sports games to new consoles at launch, with the Wii U and PS3 both getting more than a few on their individual release days.
If a listing on Amazon.de is to be taken literally, it looks like this trend will be continuing as they have begun a listing for FIFA 14 on the PlayStation 4. Looking a little deeper, they also have separate listings for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC versions of the annual sequel as well.
As for the chances of FIFA 14 actually happening on PlayStation 4, the series is hugely popular, with FIFA 13 finishing 2nd and 10th in the 2012 sales charts for North America and UK. Because of its massive sales potential, Sony themselves would likely want the game on PS4 at launch.
On top of that, EA has said that they “have never been as prepared or more ready for the start of a new console cycle” and that “games have been in development for the past year” [for next gen]. If they truly are prepared, a FIFA (and probably Madden) game seems like a no-brainer.
We’ll have to wait and see if this Amazon listing does pan out, but if it does, you can be sure that us here at PSLS will bring you all the details.
