After Dan Connors, CEO and co-founder of Telltale Games, revealed that The Walking Dead Season 2 was in concept form last week, he then talked to The Wall Street Journal about sales numbers for Season 1 of the award-winning game.
Since the first episode became available in April, there has been a total of 8.5 million copies purchased across Xbox 360, iOS, PC, and PlayStation 3. At a $5 entry price for each episode, this equals over $40 million total sales, with that number not including any of the numerous promotions that were ran throughout the year. As for the individual gamer, the average person spent around $16 on The Walking Dead.
For the full seven month period the game was available in 2012, November and December represented the highest sales, with Dan saying that “it was the culmination of the product, the game of the year awards, the retail push, and it still has a ton of head room in it.”
