In positive Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn PS3 news (as opposed to no news at all), Square Enix’s beta application form website has now gone live. While PC owners of Final Fantasy XIV who met the Legacy campaign requirements don’t have to apply for the beta, PlayStation 3 owners of any kind who want to participate must apply.
There is one exception to this though, as the website explains:
If you applied to be a PlayStation 3 beta tester for FFXIV Version 1.0 and were selected to test the Windows version instead, you need not apply again to test the PS3 version—your original application will be reconsidered when we start selecting PS3 testers. However, if you wish to be considered as a Windows PC tester, we ask that you apply specifically for that.
You can read tons of detail about the planned beta by heading to the official FAQ page, but the jist is that PlayStation 3 owners will gain access to the beta in phase 3 of the planned 4 phases, and if you still have the Square Enix Members code that came with initial copies of Final Fantasy XIII, you’ll be given priority access.
Even if you don’t plan on applying for the beta, this is definitely encouraging news for Final Fantasy XIV finally coming to the PlayStation 3 this year.
Will you be trying for the beta? Let us know in the comments below.
