Since the introduction of DualShock 3 for PlayStation 3 back in 2008, Sony has released numerous variations of it in different colors. With the impending release of God of War: Ascension next year, Sony Japan is planning to release another custom made DualShock 3.
The God of War: Ascension DualShock 3 will sport a gold-and-red color scheme with the God of War logo on the front left side and Kratos’ face on the right. No price has been revealed yet for its March 14th release date.
The bad news about this is that the controller is only announced to come out in Japan alongside Ascension with no announcement yet for the North American market. Some people might think that since God of War is a western franchise it will surely come out here as well. However, if history repeats itself, this might not be the case. If you recall, back in 2011, an Uncharted 3-themed DualShock 3 was released in Japan only, never to officially came out in other territories. I, for one, will keep my fingers-crossed for this to be announced for North America and Europe.
God of War: Ascension will release on March 12 in North America, March 13 in Europe and March 14 in Japan.
