As is usually par for the course, retailers have the jump on revealing an HD remaster collection ahead of the developer’s official announcement. In this case, Amazon has a listing for the Hitman HD Trilogy with a release date of January 29th, 2013.
The listing indicates that the game will include Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money. The games are remastered in HD and will include trophies with platinums to unlock for each title. The links on each of the games will take you to the trophy lists on PS3T. The Premium Edition will also come with an exclusive art book that has some artistic reinterpretations of iconic moments from these games. Currently the prices for both editions of the game are listed at $39.99, so you might want to opt to place your order for the Premium Edition.
There is no official word from Square Enix regarding the listing, but being hot on the heels of Hitman: Absolution and with lists of trophies for each of the games, we can rest fairly assured that this is accurate information. Are you excited to get to revisit Agent 47’s previous exploits early next year? Are you tired of all these HD collections or are you glad to have a chance and excuse to go back and play these older games? Is it an effective marketing strategy to release collections around the same time as the current-gen titles in a series? Let us know in the comments!
