Insomniac: “We Aren’t Stopping Making Ratchet & Clank Games”, Full Frontal Assault Will Have Paid and Free DLC

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault launched today on PS3 for $20, complete with a promise to get a free PS Vita copy thanks to cross buy. While you’ll have to wait until January 2013 for the handheld version, Insomniac has let us know some snippets of news about the near future of Full Frontal Assault.

One big thing that may have turned some people off is the announcement that FFA will have paid DLC. Well, they have cleared this up and revealed that skins and customization extras will cost you some coin, with brand new maps and modes being offered for free. Some of this should hit by the end of 2012, but a lot will be coming in January or February.

As for life after FFA, James Stevenson of Insomniac Games said the following:

We definitely don’t think Ratchet & Clank have run out of adventures yet 🙂

He was then asked when we might get a ‘classic’ game, responding with this:

Who knows? We aren’t stopping making Ratchet & Clank games, and aside from A41, every major game in the series has been classic Ratchet & Clank.

With Ratchet: Deadlocked HD still on track for a December 2012 release date, expect to hear more info regarding it when the launch festivities dies down for Full Frontal Assault.

Will you be buying Full Frontal Assault or Deadlocked HD? Where would you like Ratchet and Clank to go next? Let us know in the comments below.
