PlayStation All-Stars Bio: Raiden

Metal Gear‘s Raiden is out for Revengeance one more time before making an appearance in his first full fledged title in February, so today the Daily Reaction crew takes a look at him with our PS All-Stars Battle Royale character bio.

Name: Raiden

Origin: Real name Jack, he was raised as a child soldier who excelled past his classmates and earned the nickname ‘Jack the Ripper’ during a civil war by killing several enemies. This hostile history haunts Raiden well into his adulthood, and becomes the driving force for his inability to see himself as more than a tool used for warfare. This mentality causes him to loose his girlfriend Rosemary, and even becomes an opening for him to become a pawn for the Patriots.

After the events of the Big Shell incident, Raiden disappears upon breaking up with Rosmary and news of the miscarriage of his unborn child. Falling back into depression, Raiden sees that the battlefield is the only place for him, so he outfits himself to become a cybernetic ninja with an exoskeleton. Joining forces once again with Solid Snake, Raiden takes on Ocelot and the Patriots to stop the events of Outer Heaven. Shortly after, Raiden discovers that Rosemary had actually left, and hid the birth of his son from him to protect them from the reach of the Patriots.

Memorable Quotes:

It was never going to work out for me. It even rained the day I was born.

No. I just don’t fear death.

What am I supposed to believe in? What am I going to leave behind when I’m through?

Snake, you can say that because you’re a legend. But I’m Jack the Ripper; a terrible reminder of a dirty mistake.
