The fourth quarter of 2012 spans October, November, and December, with a multitude of AAA titles releasing during those three months.
In anticipation of the busy season, Nielsen did a survey from September 9th – October 6th to see just which games were the most anticipated. They polled over 4,800 men and women gamers from ages 7 – 54, using different metrics such as awareness, purchase interest, and more.
Once the study was completed, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 came out on top, with Assassin’s Creed 3 and Resident Evil 6 a very close second. Seeing Black Ops 2 in first place isn’t too much of a surprise since it will be the top-selling game of the year, but perhaps the biggest shock on this list is that 007 Legends beat out Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
