It seemed a little weird for a piece of DLC to release one week early, but that is exactly what happened with Borderlands 2 this week. The Mechromancer DLC launched this past Tuesday for free to anyone who pre-ordered the game and $9.99 to anyone who didn’t.
Now, the mystery as to why it launched prematurely has been revealed as Gearbox has announced that Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty will be coming to the PSN on October 16th for $9.99. For anyone who has purchased the Borderlands 2 Season Pass for $29.99, Captain Scarlett is the first of four DLC packs that you will receive for free.
Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty focuses around the one-eyed pirate Captain Scarlett and will be set within Oasis, a town surrounded by a massive desert. You’ll battle new enemies such as sand worms, gain access to the sand skiff vehicle, and collect a new currency called seraph crystals.
