Vita Readies Exciting Demos This Month

One great thing about this digital age is the ability to download demos of nearly all of the hottest new games. PlayStation Vita owners, be they Japanese residents or international importers, can take to the Japanese PlayStation Network Store and grab two key demos scheduled to arrive this month.

First, a demo of Wipeout 2048 will drop on January 17th, two days before it becomes available for purchase in Japan. It hasn’t been said exactly what the demo will contain, but a safe bet would say a track or two and a vehicle or two. For 4,980 yen, the full game will contain 10 tracks upon release, which puts PS Vita racing title Ridge Racer to shame. Interested fans might want to dig the game’s official website for a more detailed look at everything.

About a week later, artistic 2D side-scrolling action title Sumioni: Demon Arts will get a demo of its own. Developed by Acquire (Tenchu, Shinobido), this will head stateside thanks to XSeed Games.

Check this gameplay video to see if Sumioni is something you might want to keep your eye on:

Sumioni ships February 9th in Japan and later in the Spring in North America.
