With the main male character in Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us looking and sounding a bit like Uncharted‘s Nathan Drake (and the discovery of an Uncharted 3 Easter egg), internet speculation has sprung up suggesting that the game could be a continuation of that franchise. Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann has now confirmed otherwise.
The Creative Director tweeted:
#thelastofus of is Naughty Dog’s 4th franchise and the game I’ve been working on for the last two years.
That’s good news for Uncharted fans, as killing off most of the world might be too drastic a change for the series. Confirmation of development of at least two years is also new, and is a promising sign as Naughty Dog managed to develop Uncharted 2 and 3 within 2 years.
